PLAN AGAINST ACTUAL

Plan against actual

Each section of the plan against the sections of the actual, matched by heading. Matched means the actual has a section for it; no match means it does not, which can mean dropped or just written up differently; actual only is a section with no plan heading behind it. Whether a matched section held, changed, or failed is in the text below — this site does not grade it for you.

Planned

Goal: every page on the site that talks about the app lets the reader install it.

Found while choosing (read-only):

  • On the release branch, only index.html and split.html link to the App Store listing.
  • The four research pages (broken-size-runs, which-size-goes-first, one-star, how-many-of-each-size) end with "$29/month on the Shopify App Store" as plain text. These are where the videos and posts send people. The /broken-size-runs page had 6 views yesterday, second only to the homepage.
  • /demo, the three-minute recording of the app itself, has no install link at all.
  • The returns-arithmetic and dataset footers say "Sizecurve is a Shopify app" with no link.
  • Search: DuckDuckGo shows the site second for "sizecurve shopify". The listing is not indexed yet (day one).
  • The Stocky listing shows no retirement notice, so there is no "Stocky replacement" angle to build on.

Steps:

  1. On those seven pages, turn the App Store mention into a link to https://apps.shopify.com/sizecurve?utm_source=sizecurve-site, the same link approved.mjs gave index and split. Also add "14-day free trial" where the price is stated.
  2. Add a test: any public page that names the Shopify App Store must link the listing. The same gap cannot reopen.
  3. Apply the same edit on main and on the release branch (deploy-fresh). The files are identical on both today. Gates: npm test on each.
  4. No release. It waits on the boss's yes, and this rides with it.

Done when: both branches pass their gates with the test in place, and are pushed.

Actual

Done, on both branches. Not live: it rides with the release, which waits on the boss's yes.

  • Seven pages now link the listing, https://apps.shopify.com/sizecurve?utm_source=sizecurve-site: - broken-size-runs, which-size-goes-first, one-star, how-many-of-each-size: "$29/month on the Shopify App Store, after a 14-day free trial", with the store name as the link. - returns-arithmetic, dataset: the footer's "Sizecurve is a Shopify app" now continues "install it from the Shopify App Store, 14-day free trial". - demo: "Install from the Shopify App Store" is the first footer link.
  • Now 10 of 12 public pages link the listing. The two that do not are canary and decoy, which are measurement controls. /check links the listing from its result, through check.js.
  • New test in test/approved.test.mjs: any public page that says "Shopify App Store" must carry the listing link, and demo.html must be one of them.
  • The sitemap was regenerated; its lastmod dates follow file edits.
  • Gates: main npm test 600/600 (fd7a032). Release branch 597/597 (7e3fa44), no symlinks, pushed.
